Annual Report (2017-18)

A Glimpse of the Academic Accomplishment with high expectation and academic rigour, S.V.M states their journey through the year 2017-18 on 1st April 2017. The academic progress of S.V.M were proved again with the 100% success in Class X examination. Our student excelled in AISSE Examination.

This year academic session began on 1st April, 2017 with the observation of Utkal Diwas.

On that day we the S.V.M family joined the procession of ‘Utkal Diwas’ in honour of Utkal Janani with sheer devotion.

36TH FOUNDATION DAY :-

Saraswati Vidya Mandir successfully attained its 36th year of establishment on 4th July 2017. The entire school family is delighted that, our institution has carved a niche for imparting innovative methods without any discrimination or prejudices. Shree Sarada Prasad Nayak, Chairman, RKL Development Authority was the Hon’ble Chief Guest of the occasion. Guest of Honour was Sri Shyam Lalji Singhal, Hon’ble Trustee, HNS and a renouned poet by nature. Hon’ble Chairman Sri Nareshji Agarwal of SGB who graced the rapturous moments with Hon’ble Trustees Shri Omprakashji Gupta, Shree Biharilalji Rateria, Shri Bishnu Dayalji Agarwal, Shree Rameshji Agarwal and other dignataries.

OPEN ENGLISH ESSAY AND RANGOLI COMPETITION

Under the aegis of the National Day celebration committee, Rourkela, Saraswati Vidya Mandir organised and Inter-school Essay competition and rangoli competition on 3rd August, 2017 for enhancement of knowledge and talent of our childern in steel city.

71st INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION

The Independence Day is celebrated every year on 15th of August through out the country with great enthusiasm. On this pious day, our school also celebrated the 71st Independence day with patriotic fervor. Hon’ble Chief Guest Shree Rameshji Gopal Wasia Chairman of SGB unfurled the sacrosant tricolour of our country. On this day our students also actively participated in various programme.

SHREE SHREE GANESH PUJA

On 25th August 2017, Friday SVM family celebrated the occasion by worshipping Lord Ganesh with an aspiration to be blessed by God himself.

TEACHERS DAY

Teachers play a vital role in the life of the students by imparting true education, sense of morality, code of rationality and above all a good teacher can inspire hope, ignite the imagination and a love of learning to prepare the future citizens of the nation. Our students celebrated Teachers Day with great reverence on

5th September 2017 which was solely dedicated to their beloved teachers.

SHREE SHREE AGRASENJI JYANTI

Celebration of Shree Shree Agrasenji Jyanti is an integral part of Saraswati Vidya Mandir. So, this Jayanti was celebrated with absolute devotion and dignity on 21st September, 2017. The SVM family participated in it with full reverance. Hon’ble Chief Guest Shree Roshan Lalji Agarwal, Member of Legislative Assembly council, Raygada, Chhatisgarh, Hon’ble Trustee Convenor Shree Brijmohanji Agarwal along with other dignataries whose presence added colour and glamour to our programme.

The next segment of our programme was to honour cyclists who had taken part in cycle more than for 1445 km. There was around 60 state, where 1500 participated, among them 4 participate from our steel city they were Shree Abhishek Bansal, Shree Rajesh Agarwal, Shree Khusal Agarwal and Shree Bhisen Singh.

On this occasion a grand procession was taken out from Amar Bhawan to Agrasen Bhawan. 312 students from Class VIII to X and more than 50 teachers participated. Our Annual Magazine ‘Darpan’ was released on this ouspicious day.

CHILDREN’S DAY :

Children day is a colourful occasion in our school. Like every year we celebrated the birthday of Chacha Nehru on 14th Nov, 2017. Classes from LKG to Class VII celebrated at the school premises and a field trip was organised for the students of Class VIII to X. They were taken to I.G. Park for this purpose. So as to provide full entertainment to our children.

HANDICRAFT COMPETITION :

Marwari Yuva Munch, organised a handi craft competition on 18th December, 2017. It was about to make handicraft out of waste product. Shree Babul Agarwal was the Hon’ble Chief Guest who was present on the day to encourage the students. More than 30 students participated in the competition.

EXHIBITION OF ART, CRAFT, SOCIAL SCIENCE-CUM-FETE :

Annual Exhibition cum fete was held on 15th December, 2017, friday. In the exhibition our young scientists show cased their imagination and ability in the innovative world of science. The exhibition was filled in pursuit of knowledge and excellence. A grand fete was also organised, Hon’ble Chief Guest Shree Sharadrji Prasad Nayak, Hon’ble Trustee Shree Omprakashji Gupta (Omichacha); Hon’ble Trustee (Convenor) Shree Brijmohanji Agarwal, Hon’ble Trustee Shree Bhishnu Dayalji, Hon’ble Chariman Shree Rameshji Gopal Wasia, Hon’ble Ex-Chairman Shree Nareshji Agarwal, Hon’ble Vice Chairman Shree Shyamlalji Bansal and Shree Manoji Rateria with other dignataries were graciously present to witness the rapturous moment.

JAPANESE ENCEPHALITIS VACCINE :

Health and Welfare department of Odisha Government launched a special vaccination campaign for Japanese Encephalitis disease in the city. Children from 1 year to 15 years were vaccinated at our school premises on 19th December, 2017.

36th ANNUAL SPORTS :

Our school organised its 36th Annual sports meet on 6th & 7th January 2018 at Uditnagar ground. It was a spectacular event which witnessed students participation with great enthusiasm and sports manship spirit. Our honourable Chairman Shree Rameshji Gopal Wasia who was the Chief Guest for the opening ceremony. On the 2nd day, our Hon’ble Chief Guest was Smt. Sushma Bilung (O.A.S) Deputy Comissioner Municipal Corporation. Along with our guest of honour Shree Biharilalji Rateria, Hon’ble Chairman Shree Rameshji Gopal Wasia, Hon’ble Trustee Shree Bishnu Dayalji with others dignataries were also present on the auspicious day. Mrs. Seema Rana Hon’ble principal of our school, welcomed the guests, event was full of vibrant and colourful drills performed with perfection by junior and senior sections. Parents were overwhelmed to see their ward’s performance and displayed a spirit of fair sportsmanship and zeal among them.

SWAMI VIVEKANANDA JAYANTI :

National Youth Day is celebrated on 12th January, on the birthday of Swami Vivekananda. This year also we S.V.M. family celebrated Swami Vivekananda’s birthday with great reverence.

SARASWATI PUJA :

On the auspicious day of Saraswati Puja, 22nd January, 2018 the students, teachers and faculty of school. Governing members came together to seek the blessing of the goddess of knowledge, music, art and culture.

NETAJI SUBHASH CHANDRA BOSE :

The Jayanti of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was celebrated on a grand scale at school premises on 23rd January, 2018. The students and staff members of SVM school offered floral tribute to the great soul of our Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose on his 121st Birth Anniversary.

SMART CITY ART AND ESSAY COMPETITION

On 10th January 2018 National Day celebrtation committee organised Essay competition on ‘Corruption free India’ and Art competition about ‘Smart City.’

69th REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION : -

On 26th January, 2018 the school celebrated 69th Republic Day with great pride and solemnity. Our honourable Chief Guest Shree Rameshji Gopal Waria, Hon’ble Trustee Shree Premchand Mehamia, Shree Biharilal Rateriaji, Shree Rameshji Agarwal with other dignataries were present to witnessed the programme. On this day pledge was taken for Odisha Government, a massive vaccination drive to combat killer Japanese Encephalitis.

At the end of programme master Sumukh Sharma of Class-X and Mohit Samal of Class V were awarded for extra talent.

MATYRS’ DAY CELEBRATION :

Martyrs’ Day is an annual day observed by nations to salute the martydom of soldiers who lost their lives defending, the sovereignty of the nation. India celebrated Martyr’s Day, observes the same on 30th January every year. Our school also paid a tribute to our freedom fighter and our father of the nation Mahtma Gandhi. A beautiful song ‘Raghupati Raghava’ was sung by the teacher and students.

MEASLES RUBELLA VACCINATION DRIVE :

In order to eradicate Measles and Rubella from Odisha, the state government had launched a special vaccination campaign for MR disease. Tweleve hundred children from our school were vaccinated on 1st February, 2018.

SWACHHA BHARAT MISSION :

The Swachh Bharat Abbhiyan is the most significant cleanliness compaign by the Government of India. Hon’ble members of Hariyan Nagarik Sangh had organised a programme ‘Swachhta Pakhwada’ from 15th September to 2nd October 2018 in order to join the ‘SWACHHA BHARAT ABHIYAN’. A cleanliness compaign to clean the Rourkela Railway Station and entire near by area. All the honourble members, students, teachers and staff members of Saraswati Vidya Mandir came out and cleaned the station and near by area with a view to create awarness on cleanliness among the people of the society.

As a whole, we take the modesty to say that we did our best to do as we had planned and the current academic year is a period of much expectation and the school look forward to achieve much more in the next year.
